Oh well...

I ordered the wrong scale length for the new fingerboard blanks. Doh! New ones ordered with 15" scale length. I didn't believe the small difference would make much of a difference in the LED positions, but it did. I've generated new Altium files that are dimensioned to death. They should match what (I hope) I've ordered.

The milling profile is getting more complex, but since the new fingerboards are 1/4" thick, this provides me the opportunity to get a little creative. Now I can simply mill the neck down completely to accommodate the fingerboard with inlaid fretboard PCB. This should end up much cleaner.

Also, I'm giving new thought to the LED light pipes. I'm now thinking that a simple epoxy casting, essentially in the shape of a top hat would really do the trick. Going to investigate if there's a prototype house that could make me up a hundred parts on the cheap.
